Health plan lobby urges CMS to raise insufficient Medicare Advantage rates

Health plan trade groups are calling on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to delay or not move forward entirely with proposed changes to the 2024 Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans, Healthcare Dive reports. Points of contention include a proposal to raise MA plan rates by 2.09% in 2024, including technical code changes to the risk model. However, factoring in additional changes to star ratings and risk adjustment factors, the total expected average change in MA revenue is 1.03%, according to the CMS.
