Allianz Partners USA on Wednesday revealed the top 2023 spring break destinations, with Orlando, Florida, and Cancun, Mexico, drawing in the most American visitors in 2023.

The travel insurance and assistance company analyzed more than 2.6 million flight itineraries for spring break trips between five and eight days in length and found that 84% of the itineraries reviewed are for domestic trips and 16% of travelers are headed internationally.

For the eighth consecutive year, Orlando is the top domestic destination for American travelers, followed by Phoenix (No. 2), New York (No. 3), Las Vegas (No. 4) and Los Angeles (No. 5). Florida’s beaches and sunshine continue to attract visitors with Fort Lauderdale, Florida (No. 6), Tampa, Florida (No. 7) and Miami (No. 8) making waves this spring break season, while Americans are also heading West to Seattle (No. 9) and Salt Lake City, Utah (No. 10).

Mexico has continuously dominated as the No. 1 destination for an international spring vacation, with four of its cities making the international top 10 destinations in 2023, including Cancun (No. 1), San Jose del Cabo (No. 2), Puerto Vallarta (No. 4) and Mexico City (No. 8).

Other notable destinations featured on the top 10 roster this year include London (No. 6), which jumped four positions year over year, and Paris (No. 9), which makes its debut in the top spring break getaways list, the first time since the survey’s inception in 2015.
