Argo Group’s premiums down over 12%

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. reported a 12.2% year-on-year decrease in gross written premiums to $644.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2022 due to the sale of its businesses Argo Underwriting Agency Ltd. and Lloyd’s Syndicate 1200, Reinsurance News reported. The insurer posted a net loss of $111.8 million, compared to a loss of $117.8 million in the year-ago period.
