DEA calls for limit on telehealth prescribing of some controlled meds

The Drug Enforcement Administration announced Feb. 24 that it is seeking to reverse rule changes under the COVID-19 public health emergency that allowed doctors to prescribe powerful drugs like Adderall and OxyContin via telehealth appointments, Axios reports. The proposed changes will make it harder for Americans to access some medications used for treating pain and mental health disorders, but that can also lead to addiction.
