Employers prefer offering health coverage to alternatives: EBRI

Despite rising costs, employers will continue to offer health care coverage to their workers, and they don’t see that ending anytime soon, if ever, according to a report by the Employee Benefit Research Institute, reports Fierce Healthcare. Predictions that many employers would steer workers to plans offered on the Affordable Care Act marketplace didn’t come to pass for multiple reasons identified in the report, including a sense of obligation to provide these benefits, the report says. In addition, employers think that they could offer better deals than ACA plans.
