Strikes force German airports to cancel numerous flights

Dusseldorf Airport and Cologne/Bonn Airport in Germany cancelled almost 60 flights on Feb. 27, after trade union Verdi called for another strike over a 10.5% pay rise demand for over 2.5 million federal and local employees, Simple Flying reported. Data from aviation website FlightAware showed that strikes affected 29 outbound and 27 inbound flights at Dusseldorf Airport, while nine outbound and seven inbound flights were cancelled at Cologne/Bonn Airport.
