Skoda Auto Volkswagen India declares force majeure amid chip shortage

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. has declared a force majeure as it faces a shortage of semiconductors, making it one of the first automakers in the country to invoke such a measure since the chip shortage started easing after reaching a peak back in Aug. 2021, The Economic Times Brand Equity reported. The shortage is preventing the company from carrying out planned production activities.
