Qatar Insurance swings to net loss in 2022

Qatar Insurance Company S.A.Q. posted a net loss of 637 million Qatari riyals ($173.5 million) in 2022, compared with a net profit of QAR630 million in 2021 as underwriting results from its discontinued international business operations weighed on its finances, Middle East Insurance Review reported. The insurer's consolidated gross premiums slipped to QAR9.8 billion from QAR9.9 billion in the year-ago comparative period.
