Insured commercial property damage from quakes over $635 million

Mehmet Akif Eroglu, president of Turkey's Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency, said that insured damage to commercial properties and factories from recent earthquakes is expected to hit 12 billion Turkish lira ($635.8 million), Middle East Insurance Review reported. The country's agricultural insurance pool, Tarsim, has also paid out about TRY3 million in claims for animal and crop loss, while making provision of TRY33 million for possible claims.
