Power giant faces whistleblowing complaint over risk disclosures

Environmental finance organization Market Forces has filed a whistleblowing complaint against Japanese power giant Jera Co., Inc., claiming that the company failed to disclose crucial information on financial and legal risks in relation to a $300 million bond issued in April 2022, The Straits Times reported. The complaint, filed with the Singapore Exchange, accused the power company of omitting critical information such as risks of investing in liquefied natural gas when the Russia-Ukraine war has increased LNG price volatility and concealing the truth about a lawsuit in Australia.
