Medicaid expansion moves to North Carolina House for a vote

A Medicaid expansion bill is moving in the North Carolina House and may be on track for a vote on the House floor as early as Feb. 15, the Charlotte Observer reports. The bill, which would grant health coverage to thousands of low-income North Carolinians, flew through two House committees with little debate on Feb. 14. House Bill 76 would become effective Jan. 1, 2024.
