Insurers brace for Cyclone Gabrielle claims

Tim Grafton, chief executive at Insurance Council of New Zealand, said that insurers in New Zealand are prepared to handle thousands of claims that will arise after Cyclone Gabrielle caused severe and widespread damage across the country’s North Island, ITIJ reported. New Zealand insurers had already been handling over 40,000 claims following major floods in Auckland and surrounding areas two weeks ago.
