Canopius hires professional lines execs from Argo

Canopius Group Ltd. on Monday named former Argo Group executives Mike Butler as head of management and professional Lines, Bermuda, and Jade Weaver as an underwriter in management and professional lines, Bermuda.

Mr. Butler reports to Laurie Banez, head of casualty and head of management and professional lines, a statement said.

He was most recently senior vice president and professional lines manager from 2011 through 2023 at Argo Group.

Ms. Weaver previously served as an underwriter on the professional lines team at Argo Group.

Lisa Davis, U.S. and Bermuda regional CEO, said in the statement Canopius is committed to building its specialty platform and expanding in key sectors across the U.S. and Bermudian markets.
