Wisconsin state lawmakers have introduced a bill on Feb. 7 that would prevent insurance companies from implementing “copay accumulator adjustment” policies, which end up forcing patients to spend more for their prescription drugs in some cases, reports the Wisconsin Examiner. These policies, adopted by multiple insurance companies or pharmacy benefit managers, limit the ability of patients to apply drug company assistance coupons to their health insurance deductible.
