Demand for weather risk coverage continues to grow

Rishu Ranjan, who leads the weather and environmental commodities team at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd., said that although energy firms are predominant buyers of weather risk covers, demand from other sectors is also increasing, Artemis reported. Mr. Ranjan also said that there is a huge room for innovation in the weather risk transfer market and the ongoing energy crisis and adoption of renewables are providing additional opportunities.
