State of emergency declared after devastating floods

Devastating mudslides and floods after heavy rainfall in parts of the Arequipa region in Peru damaged several roads and houses and forced the local government to declare a state of emergency, Floodlist reported. Mudslides were also reported in the districts of Vinac and Catahuasi in the province of Yauyos, in the Lima department on Feb. 5, causing widespread disruptions and damages to schools and public buildings.
