AssuredPartners buys Michigan broker

AssuredPartners Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired Lakeside Insurance Agency of Clinton Township, Michigan.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Lakeside, which specializes in auto dealerships, will remain under the leadership of principals Therese Uthes and Clare Catalano. The broker’s website shows 15 employees.

AssuredPartners said in a statement that the acquisition is its first in 2023.

Todd Stocksdale, AssuredPartners regional president, described Lakeside’s deep knowledge of auto dealership operations in the Great Lakes region as a “seamless fit into our current operations.”

AssuredPartners is the 11th largest broker of U.S. business according to the most recent Business Insurance rankings.
