Strikes to cost UK retail and hospitality sectors over $123 million

Kate Nicholls, chief executive at trade body UKHospitality, said that the retail and hospitality sectors could lose as much as £100 million ($123.3 million) in sales due to this week's strikes, Boutique Magazine reported citing City A.M. On Feb. 1, 500,000 teachers, train drivers and civil servants are expected to strike over pay issues, followed by a further train strike on Feb. 3 that will see much of the railway network shut down.
