Marsh McLennan appoints regional CEOs

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. on Wednesday named Flavio Piccolomini as Marsh McLennan International CEO and Pat Tomlinson as U.S. and Canada CEO, in newly created roles.

Both will report to Martine Ferland, president and CEO of Mercer LLC, a consulting unit of Marsh McLennan, and Martin South, president and CEO of Marsh LLC, its commercial broking unit.

Mr. Piccolomini and Mr. Tomlinson will lead an effort across its four businesses to address clients’ interconnected risk needs, Marsh McLennan said in a statement.

Mr. Piccolomini, based in London, was most recently president of Marsh’s international division.

Mr. Tomlinson, based in New York, most recently served as president of U.S. and Canada for Mercer.

Both prior roles have been eliminated.

Marsh McLennan comprises four businesses including Marsh, Mercer, its reinsurance brokerage arm Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, and consulting business Oliver Wyman.
