As workplace safety experts and medical practitioners treating injured workers continuously grapple with the confusion over such issues as workplace drug testing and medicinal marijuana dosing, more and more products are parading into the weed marketplace.

Case in point: The Times-Picayune in New Orleans is reporting that king cake-flavored medical marijuana chews are debuting just in time for carnival season. The frenzied flavor of king cake, a Mardi Gras mainstay that is typically described as a giant cinnamon brioche roll dusted with green, yellow and purple sugar, has already seeped into other marketplaces: coffee, ice cream and even vodka.

The medical marijuana company Good Day Farms will be serving up its new product by Fat Tuesday, or Feb. 21, serving up packages of “healing potential in the Carnival theme of king cake,” according to the news article, which stipulates one needs a Louisiana medical marijuana card to partake.

The chews, inspired by a company kitchen manager who moved to New Orleans from Arkansas and took to the jazzy, anything-goes culture well, are cinnamon-flavored and feature a multi-color coating of cinnamon and crunchy sugar.
