A U.S. appeals court ruled that pharmaceutical companies can limit their shipments of federally discounted drugs to pharmacies, in a major win for the drugmakers and a blow to hospitals and clinics that receive the low-priced medicines, reports Fox Business. The ruling on Jan. 30, by a three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, was in favor of drugmakers Sanofi SA, AstraZeneca PLC and Novo Nordisk A/S, and against the Health Resources and Services Administration, or HRSA, which oversees the federal drug-discount program known as 340B.
