Tipping point coming for more stable reinsurance sector: S&P

S&P Global Ratings Inc. has maintained its negative view on the global reinsurance sector, but it believes a tipping point is coming for more stability if reinsurers maintain underwriting disciple and show the ability to sustainably earn their cost of capital, Artemis reported. S&P believes that significant reinsurance price increases, together with portfolio underwriting actions, will boost the underwriting performance of reinsurers this year.
