Most people who are disenrolled in Medicaid get enrolled in some kind of health coverage within 12 months, according to an analysis by Kaiser Family Foundation, reports Becker’s Payer Issues. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates that up to 15 million people could be disenrolled from Medicaid when redeterminations begin on April 1, the report says. According to the KFF analysis, between 2016 and 2019, 65% of those disenrolled from Medicaid were uninsured for some period of time, and 41% re-enrolled in Medicaid within the year.
