Everest hires former Zurich exec to head financial lines

Everest Insurance, Everest Re Group Ltd.’s primary insurance division, said Tuesday it has named a former Zurich Insurance Group executive head of financial lines.

Timothy Powell, who is London-based, succeeds Christian Colombera, who will assume the role of managing director of Australia & head of the Pacific region, pending regulatory approval, Everest said in its statement.

Mr. Powell will report to Adam Clifford, co-lead of Everest Insurance International.

Mr. Powell, who is a former Axa XL chief underwriting officer for international lines, joined Zurich Insurance Group as global head of financial lines and cyber in May 2021.

Zurich said in August that he had decided to pursue other opportunities.
