Google cuts 12,000 workers, offers benefits in severance package

Alphabet Inc.’s Google announced plans to cut 12,000 employees and is offering a package of severance benefits to soften the blow, reports Firstpost. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in an email to employees that eligible U.S. employees will receive six months of health insurance, paid vacations, 2022 bonuses and 16 weeks of salary plus two weeks of pay for every additional year of employment at Google.
