Poll finds high-deductible health plans accompanied by medical cost issues

Patient with high-deductible health plans are more likely to face financial hardships related to medical billing than those in plans with lower deductibles and out-of-pocket costs, according to a poll by revenue cycle firm AKASA, reports Health Leaders Media. The study found that 34% of those with HDHPs said they had been harassed by a medical debt collector before, and 44% said they had experienced financial hardship from bills.
