New Jersey town shortens health insurance eligibility period

The Wayne, New Jersey, town council on Jan. 18 passed a measure to reduce the health insurance eligibility waiting period for new employees  to 30 days from 90 days, reports TAPinto Wayne. Fifth Ward Councilwoman Fran Ritter, who voted against the measure, had questioned whether the measure would only apply to non-union employees, as collective bargaining agreements govern changes for police and other unions.
