The labor court in Lyon, France has ordered ridesharing company Uber Technologies, Inc. to pay around €17 million ($18.5 million) in damages and lost salaries to 139 drivers who argued they should have been treated like employees rather than self-employed, Reuters reported. Under the case that started in 2020, the court decided that the drivers should considered employees and that Uber should have reimbursed the drivers for professional expenses.
