7.0-magnitude earthquake jolts Indonesia

Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency said that a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi on Jan. 18 with tremors also felt in the Maluku islands, CNBC reported. The quake, which occurred at a depth of nearly 40 miles, prompted the U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center to briefly issue a warning on a risk of tsunami waves.
