Bill would mandate paid time off benefits for all workers

Minnesota Democrats who control the state Legislature this week are expected to advance a proposal that would guarantee all workers with paid time off if they or a loved one need medical care, reports Fox 9 KSMP. The bill, scheduled for its first committee hearing Jan. 18, would give workers up to 12 weeks of paid medical leave and 12 more weeks of paid family leave funded by the state budget surplus and a new tax.
