Japan culls nearly 10 million birds as avian influenza surges

Poultry farms in Japan have culled a record high of 9.98 million birds since October 2022 amid a nationwide avian influenza surge, Business Standard reported citing IANS. The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said that a poultry farm in the town of Shirosato recently has started culling about 930,000 chickens this week.
