Nursing strike at two New York hospitals disrupts health care

More than 7,000 nurses at two New York City hospitals – Mount Sinai Hospital and Montefiore Bronx – began to strike on Jan. 9  after talks broke down between the union and hospital leaders overnight, Axios reports. The hospitals have postponed some elective procedures and Mount Sinai began transferring babies from its neonatal intensive care unit in preparation for the strike.
