Lawsuit accuses health insurers of evading payments to COVID-19 testing labs

Health care providers and an individual plaintiff have filed a class action lawsuit in a federal district court in Orlando accusing several health insurance companies of setting up  “illegal hurdles” to avoid paying for COVID-19 services, reports BenefitsPro. The lawsuit, filed by Mandelbaum Barrett on behalf of Aventus Health LLC and multiple laboratories, along with proposed class representative Sean Bygrave, names several defendants, including UnitedHealthcare Inc. and OptumHealth Care Solutions.
