Peru's environmental authorities have imposed three new fines worth $5.7 million on Spanish energy company Repsol SA over an oil spill in January 2022 that polluted beaches and cost thousands their livelihoods, France24 reports citing AFP. These fines come as the firm failed to supply required information relating to the environmental damage. Repsol was fined $10.7 million in October last year and $1.25 million in July for a variety of offences.
