Under preliminary agreement signed by a U.S. district judge, Highmark Health will pay $1.85 million as part of an estimated $9.6 million settlement for violating an obscure federal law that prohibits robocalls, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Christopher James Walker, then a resident of Middletown, Delaware, filed a civil lawsuit against Highmark Health in 2020 alleging that he and others received dozens of pre-recorded calls between 2018 and 2021 from Highmark contractor and health analytics firm Cotivitti Inc.
