The National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties in France has fined Microsoft Inc. €60 million ($64 million) for violating regulations about advertising cookies on its search engine Bing, Al Bawaba reports. Following complaints in September 2020 and May 2021, the data privacy regulator noticed that when users visited the Bing website, cookies were placed on their terminal without their consent and there was no required button that asks users to accept or decline cookies.
