Ireland’s Data Protection Commission launched a probe on Dec. 23 into Twitter Inc. after the personal data belonging to 5.4 million users was leaked in November, SiliconAngle reports. A vulnerability in one of Twitter’s application programing interfaces enabled hackers to learn the phone numbers and email addresses associated with user accounts. The company said the issue emerged as a result of a faulty software update released in June 2021.
