BHP to face $12 billion trial in UK over Brazil dam collapse

The British high court judge has ruled that Anglo-Australian miner BHP Group Ltd. must stand trial in the U.K. to face an estimated £10 billion ($12 billion) damage claim over the deadly 2015 iron ore tailings dam collapse in Brazil, France24 reports citing AFP. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 19 people, the flooding of 39 towns, and the polluting of several miles of river.
