MS Amlin announces underwriting executive moves

U.K.-based insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin Ltd. on Friday announced further changes to its senior underwriting leadership team as Andrew Carrier transitions from chief underwriting officer to CEO on Jan. 1, 2023.

Grant Baxter, who joined the business at the end of December 2022 as head of reinsurance, will also become interim CUO, effective Jan. 1, 2023. He will retain his reinsurance responsibilities, join MS Amlin’s executive committee and will report to Mr. Carrier, a statement said.

Neil Walker, now head of underwriting transformation, will become co-deputy CUO and head of specialty insurance, with responsibility for marine, casualty, natural resources, and crisis management insurance lines. 

Sam Geddes, now head of property and allied lines, will also become co-deputy CUO while retaining his existing responsibilities for property and auto insurance product lines.

Both Mr. Walker and Mr. Geddes will report to Mr. Baxter, the statement said.
