Insured losses from typhoon estimated at $910 million

Swiss catastrophe data provider Perils AG has increased its insured loss estimate for typhoon Nanmadol, which battered Japanese islands in September, to 120 billion Japanese yen ($910 million) up 5% from its first estimate in November, Artemis reported. The typhoon affected the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku in southern Japan and the western and central regions of the country's main island of Honshu from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20.
