GOP lawmakers want to reverse ESG consideration in retirement plans

In response to the Department of Labor’s November final rule permitting the consideration of environmental, social and governance factors in retirement plans, Republican lawmakers issued a joint resolution calling on DOL to nullify the rule, reports Plansponsor. Introduced by Rep. Andy Barr, R-Kentucky, and Sen. Mike Braun, R-Indiana, the joint resolution must be passed in both houses and signed by the president to take effect.
