3M faces investigation over river contamination

The Dutch government is investigating its legal options against U.S.-based chemical firm 3M because of pollution in the Western Scheldt, The Bharat Express News reports. For years, the company’s Belgium-based plant allegedly seeped contaminated groundwater into the 217-mile river that begins in France and flows through Belgium and the Netherlands to the North Sea.
