Taiwan probes TikTok over suspected illegal operations

The Taiwanese government has opened an investigation into Chinese video-sharing app TikTok over alleged illegal commercial operations in the country, Kontan reported citing Reuters. Taiwan has banned Chinese social media platforms and has long complained that the country uses social media to spread disinformation on the island that Beijing claims as its territory.
