Heat wave intensifies forest fires in Chile

An ongoing heat wave in Chile has intensified forest fires that have already burned more than 7,000 hectares in the nation, India Today reported citing Reuters. The capital Santiago is under a public health alert due to a cloud of smoke as a result of a blaze in the nearby rural town of Curacavi that devastated more than 1,700 hectares and 120 animals were being removed from the area.
