Allianz emerges as largest nonlife insurer in Europe

German insurer Allianz SE topped A.M. Best Co. Inc.’s list as the largest European nonlife insurer with total gross written premium of €60.27 billion ($63.5 billion) in 2021, Reinsurance News reported. Allianz was followed by French insurer Axa SA, which came second with premium of approximately €53 billion in 2021.
