Insured losses from extreme weather events reach record high levels

New Zealand’s Insurance Council said that insurance claims from extreme weather-related damages have already topped $335 million New Zealand ($214.5 million) this year, which is a new record high for the country, Stuff.co.nz reported. In comparison, the insurance industry paid NZD305 million in weather-related claims in 2021.
