Guatemala’s largest airport halts operations after volcanic eruption

The Volcan de Fuego in Guatemala erupted on Dec. 10, sending ash more than a mile into the sky, prompting authorities of the country’s largest airport, La Aurora, to briefly suspend all operations on Dec. 11, Hindustan Times reported citing AFP. The volcano also forced closure of a major highway.
