Illinois city faces 17% increase in health insurance costs, but half of original hike

Health insurance costs for City of Edwardsville, Illinois, employees will rise 17% next year, mainly due to higher claims volume over the past year, reports the Edwardsville Intelligencer. After passing unanimously through key committees last week, the full city council on Dec. 6 approved the renewal plan with Cigna Corp. for employees in 2023.
