Some employers step up with benefits to address workers’ student loan debts

More employers are offering student loan repayment is benefits as many employees struggle under the financial strain of student debt, CNBC reports. Hundreds of companies from Fidelity Investments Inc. to Aetna Inc., Abbott Laboratories, Alphabet Inc.’s Google and Peloton Interactive Inc. are offering some form of this financial assistance to workers. Some companies offer a direct student debt payment match; others offset the cost by adding more money to an employee retirement savings plan.
