Bill would change how regulators approve new drugs for Medicare

New legislation in Congress aims to revamp how federal regulators determine Medicare coverage of new treatments, Fierce Healthcare reports. The Access to Innovative Treatments Act, introduced Nov. 29, would require the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to evaluate new drugs for coverage individually as opposed to an entire class amid other reforms.
